CDA Summer Program offers a variety of camps and programs that will satisfy the visual and performing artist, the athlete, the adventurer, the leader to be, and the technology enthusiast. CDA Programs are custom designed specific to grade or age, reasonably priced, and offer the convenience and service that parents need.
What sets us apart from other summer programs? It is the perfect combination of certified staff that are invested in your children, safe indoor and outdoor facilities, and programs that infuse skills to help strengthen our students in today’s world. Our camps help develop students by incorporating themes such as stress management, team-building, diversity, volunteerism, empathy, self-acceptance, goal setting, leadership, social media safety, and problem solving.
Recreational, educational, and cultural learning activities provide enriching and positive summer experiences for children in grades K-4 in the CDA 4 Week Day Camp. The Pre-Teen Camp (PTC) is for incoming and exiting sixth graders and specifically targets the interests and developmental needs of our older campers. Students may attend four weeks of PTC or pair a few weeks with one of our accelerated programs for older students.
We are excited to expand our camp to new programs this summer such as a SAT Prep for high school students who have busy schedules during the school year. Ignite Your Spark! presented by Camp Fire NJ, is a unique program that offers the opportunity to serve our community and provide a rich, nurturing environment for our youth to THRIVE. We are collaborating with Cream Ridge Golf Course to offer a week long Golf Camp. Track Camp, Kids Dig STEM, and an All-Day Sports Camp will give families even more options.
CDA’s Jr. Musical Theater Company summer production is “Mary Poppins Junior.” Summer theater presents a unique opportunity for budding young thespians (ages 8-14) to hone and exhibit their craft. Our Summer Stock Musical Theater production is a highly detailed and instructional experience for our high school actors, ages 14-19. This summer’s production is “The Addams Family.”
Dr. Fisher and her team of seasoned and committed instructors provide five weeks of Red Cross swim lessons to roughly 300 swimmers at every level — as she has for more than 50 years. What is not captured in the statistics is the community social time practiced by parents, grandparents, neighbors, and friends who gather at the pool for their child’s lesson. This (and Dr. Fisher!) set the CDA Swim Program apart from other swim programs.
The legendary retired PMES kindergarten teacher, Ms. Pesce, continues to lead the extremely popular Kindergarten Ready Program. Children entering kindergarten this fall are introduced to a wide variety of readiness activities that prepare them for the kindergarten environment and the next stage of their educational life. This program raises the instructional bar for our “soon to be” full day kindergarteners.
Our summer programs appeal to the interest of all students. There are numerous sports camps for the athlete, art and music camps for those with a creative spirit, technology camps for students who love to problem solve, and adventure camps for kids who love to explore and discover. Most recreation programs and camps are supported by a before and/or after-care component that provides extended childcare or programming from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
